Green Darner Riesling 2019
Like the label's namesake dragonfly, this Riesling glides across the palate. It’s the perfect match for a story steeped in childhood wonder, where forest spirits, hidden worlds and fleeting moments create a lasting spell. This gem catapulted both director Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli to global prominence and firmly established both their places in cinematic history.

Wine Flavor Profile
Elegant, stunningly beautiful, almost ethereal. The green darner dragonfly—Washington’s official state insect and a frequent vineyard visitor—serves as the inspiration for this exclusive, equally gorgeous Riesling.
Green Darner hails from the Yakima Valley, Washington’s oldest wine region (and, fun fact, the third-oldest federally recognized wine region in the United States, after Napa Valley and Missouri’s Augusta AVA). Thanks to the region’s naturally extra-long growing season, the grapes ripen slowly and evenly, making for more complex aromas and flavors in your glass.
Look forward to a shimmery gold color, reminiscent of the green darner’s eye-catching wings. Made in a gently sweet, off-dry style, this Riesling overflows with ripe pear, green apple and lime flavors. Sip it solo for a sweet treat, or enjoy alongside grilled chicken, creamy vegetarian dishes, or spicy Asian or Latin fare (the wine’s sweetness will offset the heat).
Riesling is the white of choice for many Master Sommeliers (it’s that delicious, complex, and so versatile with food), and we think you’ll be very impressed with this fine example. It even scooped up a silver medal at the San Francisco International Wine Competition.
“This gold medal-winning Riesling is a great example of the excellence that exists in Washington state.”
