THE WINE
With fabulous costuming, groovy choreography and one of the best-selling soundtracks of all time, Saturday Night Fever became a pop culture icon and helped spread disco music around the world. We pay tribute with another global hit, Cabernet Sauvignon. This limited-edition release comes to you from sunny California and the 2020 vintage (read more below). When you uncork your bottle, you’ll be movin’ and groovin’ with rich black fruit, blueberry and licorice notes, plus a hint of spice from aging in French and American oak.
THE GRAPE
Cabernet is the king of the reds, loved for its deepcolored, black currant-rich wines. Most famously, it’s the variety that powers Bordeaux’s legendary First Growths, like Château Lafite and Château Margaux. However, you’ll also find plenty of world-class examples in California. The best known (and expensive) Cabs come from the Napa Valley and Sonoma, but Paso Robles is a top place to look for serious flavor and value.
THE VINTAGE
Oh, 2020. It was a difficult year for many— especially grape growers in California, who had to contend with the specter of COVID-19 then devastating drought and wild fires. But despite these challenges, quality remains high. The lack of rainfall meant lower yields of better-concentrated fruit and early picking, so the wines that were made, like this red, are drinking deliciously.
